Komodo adds blockchain protocols in 2022 version that allows users perform faster cross chain and cross protocol transactions.

AtomicDEX has been enhanced with the addition of Polygon, Avalanche, Harmony, and ten other blockchain protocols from Komodo, a leader in blockchain interoperability and atomic swap technology.

As a non-custodial multi-coin wallet and decentralized exchange powered by atomic swap all in one app, AtomicDEX is a proof that a multichain/multiprotocol reality can be both accessible and secure.

Users on these various chains will now be able to access their cryptocurrencies natively without the need for wrapped or proxy tokens, resulting in seamless transactions across multiple chains.

Komodo’s CTO Kadan Stadelmann says,

“We usually think that blockchain bridges are super limited to a one-way or two-way-bridge such as Ethereum to Binance, but adding these protocols like Polygon and Avalanche really adds a whole new level of accessibility for users to make quicker and smoother cross-chain and cross-protocol transactions while still keeping custody of their keys.”

The use of centralized exchanges like Coinbase or FTX to transfer assets can also cause lockups and long wait times for withdrawals, or cause withdrawals to be suspended when gas fees are high. The AtomicDEX charges no fees for market makers or takers, and 0.13% for market makers. Gas fees are negligible for trading cross-chain on the vast majority of supported blockchains.

Additionally, it has a built-in non-custodial wallet that enables users to hold funds or withdraw to an external wallet at any time.

The new 13 protocols being added to Komodo’s AtomicDEX include Avalanche, Polygon, Harmony, Fantom, smartBCH, Ethereum Classic, Moonriver, KuCoin Community Chain, Huobi ECO Chain, Flux, Ubiq, Arbitrum (wallet only), and Optimism (wallet only) — allowing users to swap from Ethereum to BSC or vice versa, Avalanche to BSC or vice versa, Polygon to Avalanche, and so on.

Stephen Tse, Founder of Harmony, an open and fast blockchain for your assets, collectibles, identity and governance, says,

“We look forward to joining Komodo on the mission of providing full cross-chain support for the entire blockchain ecosystem. By listing the ONE token to Komodo’s AtomicDEX, we are creating a value aligned partnership which will enable more people to access both Harmony, Komodo, and every other coin listed through these networks. We hope to build bridges not walls throughout the ecosystem to create greater scalability across blockchains”.

By adding trading support for Polygon and smartBCH sidechain networks, AtomicDEX is able to support blockchain scalability efforts for both Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash ecosystems.

AtomicDEX integrated Binance Smart Chain (BSC) last year, making the first-ever native cross-chain swap from BSC to non-BEP-20 blockchains. In August 2021, Tokel (TKL) completed the first-ever peer-to-peer initial DEX offering (IDO) on AtomicDEX.
